4-H Shelters
4-H Shelters / Pavillions
The Wetzel County 4-H Grounds have two shelters (open) and three pavilions (closed). Some are named in honor of individuals who, through effort, hard work, and support, were instrumental in developing 4-H and the property into what is represents today.
All facilities are available to book for your private event. Please contact Lori Wykert at 304-266-1607 or email at lwykert@wetzelwv.com to schedule your event.

Harry E. Gamble Shelter
The Harry E. Gamble Shelter newly houses indoor climate controlled pickleball courts. Not only can you schedule private play times in two hour increments seven days a week for pickleball use, the new design allows for a climate controlled environment and the sides fully open. You can also host an event, reunion, celebration, picnic, or basketball. The Gamble Shelter will also better lend itself to festivals and fairs.

Witte and Stuart Shelters

The Witte Shelter was named in honor of Gerrit & Ruth Witte. The Wittes were dedicated 4-H supporters, volunteering time and effort into the 4-H club and camp. Over time, they even got their children involved.
The Witte Shelter is 1,060 sq. feet with 10 tables and a capacity of 60 people.
Named in honor of Mildred Stuart, a life long employee of the 4-H extension and member of the 4-H Advisory Board. Millie was the glue that held the grounds, camp, and projects' funds together, while seeing many faces come and go. The large pavilion is a 7,700 sq ft building that can host various types of events, it can be opened up by opening the big sliding doors to allow in fresh air or be kept shut with the fans turned on. This building is great for larger events such as family reunions and birthday parties.
